Agents are becoming the new gatekeepers to discovery. Every time someone asks ChatGPT "what's the best pediatric dentist near me" or Perplexity "which invoicing tool works with Xero", a small, fast, headless process is crawling sites, parsing responses, and deciding which three or four to surface.

Most websites are not built for that process. They were built for humans scrolling on a phone, or for Google's rendering pipeline, or for conversion-optimized funnels — all valid, none sufficient for the agent era.

That's why we built the Agent Readiness Score™ — a deterministic, weighted audit that answers four questions about any website:

1. Can agents find it? (Technical readiness)
2. Can agents understand the task it enables? (Task readiness)
3. Can agents represent it accurately to an end-user? (Recommendation readiness)
4. Can agents actually complete the task? (Agent actionability)

Why this publication exists

Running the score on thousands of sites has taught us things we can't fit into a tooltip. Patterns across verticals. Failure modes we'd never have predicted. The surprising gap between "well-optimized for SEO" and "legible to an agent."

What to expect

One or two posts a week, roughly. Each post is read-in-ten-minutes or less. No clickbait, no gated "download the PDF to learn more" — the whole argument is on the page.
